The Confidence to Say Yes
When you combine the right skills with the kind of dedication you get from a family-operated company, the word our customers hear most often is Yes.
Experience Means Yes
Richard Coon – Founder/CEO
When Rich started First Fuel 25 years ago, it was one guy, one truck. Today, the company is recognized as one of this region’s best independent businesses. Because the whole family is dedicated to customer service. In the middle of Winter, you should never have to wait a week —or even a day—for a response to an urgent need. That’s where Rich’s experience makes all the difference. Smart planning and investing in the best equipment saves time. And every minute First Fuel saves in its day-to-day operations adds up to hours that you don’t wait for responsive service.
Grandfather. Pilot. Chef.
Organization Means Yes
Courtney Coon – Office Manager
Courtney worked for eight years as a nurse before joining the family business. She brought with her a very important skill: tracking customers the way she used to track patients with detailed, accurate, and up-to-date information. Thanks to Courtney, when you call any member of the First Fuel team, they’ll have current information about billing, contracts, service changes, etc. at their fingertips. This saves you time and stress when resolving issues, getting answers to questions, or arranging new services.
Foodie. Traveler. Knitter of Baby Gifts.
Being Local Means Yes
Austin Coon – Operations Manager
Austin started with First Fuel the day after he graduated from Chatham High 12 years ago. A self-described “home body,” he loves raising his kids in the Hudson Valley and to him, customers are like neighbors. When you work with Austin, you understand the difference between the independent, family operation and the big corporation. He’s that guy. The one who does whatever it takes. Not just because it’s his job. But because he cares.
Husband. Father. Keeper of Bees.
A Cool Head Means Yes
David Coon – Business Development
Sometimes David’s laid-back style makes his dad crazy. But behind the relaxed posture and sense of humor is a head for logistics and efficiency backed by a business degree from SUNY Albany. He’s definitely a guy who likes to work hard and play hard. But David’s cool head when he’s overseeing a few hundred routes in the middle of an intense blizzard means that all his customers get to relax. And that’s how it’s supposed to work.
Traveler. Cyclist. EDM Fan.
Creativity Means Yes
Ryan Coon – Procurement Manager
Ryan’s first job with First Fuel was painting tanks when he was thirteen. Now, he’s back and working in the wholesale supply side of the business. It’s a job that’s half-science and half-art. And that works out because Ryan happens to be an artist with a science degree. His creative mind will be invaluable to the team as First Fuel continues to grow and better serve the Hudson Valley.
